Kakadu Day Tour
Today we visit the World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park. Travel via the Arnhem Highway across the Marrakai Plains and visit the Bowali Visitor Centre. Cruise on the world renowned Yellow waters Lagoon which offers superb viewing of the area’s birdlife, flora and fauna. Look for Crocodiles in their natural environment. Take a short walk to Nourlangie Rock and see ancient Aboriginal rock art. Return to Darwin,

Darwin - Litchfield National park - Katherine
A delightful day ahead as we visit one of the Northern territory’s newest national parks. Enroute we take a look at the fascinating huge termite mounds. Then we visit many superb natural features in the picturesque Litchfield National Park including spring-fed natural pools at Wangi and Florence Falls surrounded by lush rainforest. Time to relax and enjoy a swim and yes it is safe!

Katherine - Kununurra (3 nights)
This morning experience the sheer grandeur of Katherine Gorge (now called Nitmiluk, a word taken from the Aboriginal dreamtime). This is possibly the most colourful and awe-inspiring river canyon in inland Australia. Your two hour cruise up this breathtaking gorge will be one of your tour’s highlights. We then proceed towards Western Australia through huge cattle stations and colourful mountainous terrain, crossing dozens of creeks that form the Victoria River system.

Wyndham - El Questro - Chamberlain Gorge
Our day commences with a scenic drive to Wyndham on the Cambridge Gulf - the northern most port and major town in Western Australia. Here we visit the Five Rivers Lookout for spectacular panoramic views. Continue to El Questro considered to be one of the world’s most unique holiday destinations. Enjoy a cruise on secluded Chamberlain Gorge with its 200-foot escarpments, view excellent examples of Wandjina rock art, soak and relax in the sparkling Zebedee Springs before returning to our hotel.

Ord River & Lake Argyle Cruises
Cruise along the magnificent Ord River for 55km in a fast boat from Kununurra to the Lake Argyle Dam wall. Lake Argyle is Australia’s largest expense of freshwater - so large it is classed as an inland sea. Enjoy another cruise with informative commentary on the nature, history and development of the Ord River Scheme. See some of the local wildlife up close; rock wallabies, wallaroos, freshwater crocodiles and a spectacular fish feeding frenzy. Return to Kununurra for a tour of the town and a worship service after dinner.

Kununurra - Fitzroy River Crossing
Opportunity this morning for anyone who wishes to take the spectacular flight over the ancient and breathtaking lost world of the Bungle Bungles and the Argyle Diamond mine, rejoin coach at Warmun. (This is optional and at additional cost). Continue to Halls Creek, site of Western Australia’s first gold discovery, for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy afternoon tea at scenic spot on the Mary River before arriving at our hotel for the night the Fitzroy River Lodge.

Fitzroy Crossing - Derby
This morning another fantastic highlight - a cruise on Geikie Gorge. Part of the mighty Fitzroy River, this is a biological wonderland. 350km from any ocean this beautiful expanse of water is inhabited by crocodiles, sawfish and stingrays that have all adapted to fresh water. Continuing on we travel into the Oscar Range to Tunnel Creek, a permanent underground watercourse which flows for 750 metres of which it is possible to walk through. Further on we come to Windjana Gorge a 5 km magnificent pristine environment, abundant in wildlife including freshwater crocodiles. You will enjoy a walk here. We join the Gibb River Road to take us to Derby and our overnight stop at the King Sound Resort Hotel.

Derby - Broome
See Derby with its main street lined with Boab trees as old as the town itself, visit the Boab Prison Tree and the longest watering trough in the world. Here you will see the second greatest variance in tidal rise and fall in the world. Then you have the choice to take an optional scenic flight over the Thousand Islands, remote bays of the Buccaneer Archipelago and the spectacular Horizontal Waterfall (own expense) or you can remain on the coach and travel down the Great Northern Road to Broome. Either way you will arrive into Broome early afternoon. If you take the flight you also have the option of landing at the falls. Overnight Broome Mercure (3 nights)

Broome sightseeing
Enjoy a leisurely day in Broome, the beach resort of the Kimberleys region and once the pearling capital of the world from where more than 300 luggers used to operate. With our local guide we visit China town, the Japanese cemetery, the famous Jetty, Cable Beach and Gantheaume Point where the footprint of a dinosaur is visible at low tide. This evening we return to the famous Cable Beach where you can ride a camel if you wish along the beach (own expense). Finally enjoy fish and chips by the sea at the Cable Beach Sand Bar and Grill as you watch the sun set on the Indian Ocean.

Broome at Leisure
Free day to put your feet up and relax by the pool, however if you are the adventurous type and want to experience more of what Broome has to offer you may like to take a ride on the Spirit of Broome Hovercraft, and / or take a trip out to the Willie Creek Pearl Farm for a guided tour. Perhaps a visit to Malcolm Douglas Wildlife Wilderness Park where you can view some of the largest crocodiles in captivity and witness their true nature during feeding time.
Those who have chosen the 12 Day Top End & Kimberley Tour will depart Broome after midnight for a direct Qantas flight to Melbourne with connections available to other cities.

Broome - Port Hedland
Following the Great Northern Highway we encounter some of the most sparsely populated areas of the Northwest, with the Great Sandy Desert to the east, and magnificent 80 Mile Beach to the west. In Port Hedland we view the port loading facilities of the Mount Newman mining company which copes with more tonnage than any other port in Australia and handles the world’s largest ocean going ore carriers. Port Hedland - Tom Price
Start our day with a worship service at one of the local churches before traveling down the Port Hedland Highway to Wittenoom, site of the greatest industrial disaster in Australia - the mining of blue asbestos, now a ghost town. Mine Tour & Hamersley Gorges
Commence the day with a guided tour of the massive, mind-boggling Hamersley Iron mining operations. This is what the mining boom is all about. Then a real contrast as we explore the magnificent Hamersley Ranges, including the breathtaking view from Oxers Lookout where several gorges meet.

Tom Price - Exmouth
Our route today takes us through rich red earth and spinifex landscape of the Pilbara, passing Mt. Stuart, joining the North West Highway and stopping at Nanutarra roadhouse before leaving the highway to travel to the coastal town of Exmouth, a relatively new town built in the mid-sixties to accommodate the employees of the U.S. Naval Communications Base. Exmouth - Yardie Creek - Carnarvon
Early start to allow us to visit a spectacular gorge in the Cape Range National Park - Yardie Gorge. This ancient gorge features deep blue waters, red coloured limestone cliff faces and an array of wildlife including the rare black footed wallabies and a variety of birdlife. Experience this from the ideal vantage point of a leisurely one hour cruise up the gorge. This cruise can be impacted by tides and river levels. We then retrace our journey back to Exmouth and call into Coral Bay before we join the North West Highway to Carnarvon. Stay overnight Best Western Hospitality Inn Carnarvon

Carnarvon - Monkey Mia
Travel this morning to the Shark Bay region where we visit the Hamelin Pool Marine Reserve. Hamelin Pool has the distinction of being only one of two places in the world with living marine stromatolites, or “living fossils.” A wooden boardwalk at Hamelin Pool allows people to view the stromatolites without damaging them. Continue to Monkey Mia made famous because of the friendly bottlenose dolphins that come into shore to mingle amongst swimmers. Although lots of emphasis is placed on feeding the dolphins, you may get a bigger kick out of just watching them hunt, play and swim among humans. This is acknowledge as the world’s best dolphin experience, however having said that they are still wild and there is no guarantee that they will meet every coach group that visits this pristine bay.

Monkey Mia - Kalbarri
Wildflowers and spectacular scenery are the attractions today. Kalbarri National Park is renowned for its 500 species of wildflowers, which usually commence to bloom in early spring. We also take in some magnificent views of the scenic Murchison River which winds its way through the park creating spectacular gorges in the colourful sandstone walls that line the river.

Kalbarri - Perth
On to Geraldton the commercial centre for the Batavia Coast. A brief orientation tour before moving on to our feature today a visit to Nambung National Park where we will spend time viewing and exploring the pillars known as the Pinnacles, an unusual geological formation created over thousands of years ago by the forces of nature. There will be time to stroll through, explore and photograph these majestic spires. Leave the eerie surrounds of the Pinnacles and continue on to Perth for the next two nights. Perth
Morning tour of Perth’s city sights, modern and historic. We take time to explore beautiful King’s park, a 400 hectare reserve of botanical gardens and bushland which will be a blaze of colour with wildflowers during the time of our visit. There will be some free time for shopping and lunch in the city before an afternoon cruise down the picturesque Swan River to Freemantle where you will be met by your coach and shown the sites of this rejuvenated port as a result of the America’s Cup Defence. Tonight we will join one of the local churches for worship.

Enjoy a leisurely day exploring the fabled Kalgoorlie region. Visit Hannans Tourist gold mine. If you wish, put on a “hard hat” and go down the shaft in a cage to experience what mining conditions were once like underground. Enjoy a guided tour of the historical buildings along the Golden Mile, said to have been the richest square mile of gold bearing earth in the world, and still have plenty of free time for shopping or relaxing.

Today we visit Margaret River’s internationally-acclaimed wine producing Leeuwin Estate before we take a trip down to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet at the most westerly point of Australia. Hear your local guide explain the history of the lighthouse before making our way back up the coast through several holiday townships located on the shores of the Indian Ocean to Perth. Tonight our special farewell dinner will be a dinner cruise on the beautiful Swan River before our transfer to the airport for late evening direct flight to Sydney or Melbourne with connections also available to other cities.

Accommodation ... for all our tours is of a high standard. However due to the remoteness of some places the choice of lodging is limited and some of the comforts of home may not be as readily available, including private en-suite bathrooms.
