Palm Sunday Worship | Moogerah Passion Play

Sharing worship and fellowship with local Christians is always a highlight of any CFT tour, and this Palm Sunday it is a joy to join the congregation of St Marks Anglican.

Mid-afternoon we head off to the shores of Lake Moogerah where a unique experience awaits – the inspirational Moogerah Passion Play. Dating back to 1993 the vision of this Passion Play was to involve an entire community, both Christians and non-Christians, in the presentation of the Gospels. The 2.5 hour performance has a script based firmly on the Bible, with the words of Christ unchanged from those in the Gospels.

The Lake Theatre is the first permanent Passion Play venue in Australia and volunteers have created an olive grove and a palm grove as well as a “Sea of Galilee” for the staging of scenes involving water and a fishing boat. Here you will find a variety of food options that are available before and after the performance (own choice and cost).

We return to Warwick, filled with joy, after a truly wonderful Palm Sunday.
