Steve & Erika Hodge

“We feel so blessed to be part of the CFT family. The heart of CFT—bringing together like-minded people to explore God’s incredible creation, both here in Australia and around the world—truly resonates with us. Over recent years, we’ve had the joy of leading many different tours and each one has deepened our appreciation for the richness of different cultures, the beauty of creation, and the gift of community. These experiences have given us treasured memories and life lessons that we love to share as we continue to journey with others. Travel has opened our eyes and hearts in countless ways, always bringing us back to what matters most—our relationship with Jesus, the people we meet, and the world He’s made.”

Steve and Erika love their role as CFT Leaders, seeing it as a valuable form of ministry as they seek to forge caring Christian connections within all the groups they take travelling.

Based in sunny Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast of NSW, they have found a welcoming church home at The Hope Community. Previously active long-term members of Blackheath Baptist Church they have served God through pastoral care and ministry, youth ministry and home Bible study groups.

Steve was formerly a paramedic, rescue officer and WH&S (Work, Health & Safety) officer whilst Erika worked as a Bursar and Administration Officer at a Mountains Christian College, Blackheath for 30 years. In retirement, Steve is now a volunteer chaplain with the NSW Ambulance Service and both he and Erika volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief and have responded to fire and flood events across Australia. They have attended Samaritan’s Purse conferences in Canada and the USA, completed international disaster training, as well as chaplaincy training with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and now serve as chaplains with their Rapid Response Team.

When on tour with Steve & Erika, you will soon learn that they are full of fun, and nothing brings them more joy than meeting new people, building friendships, and sharing God’s love in everyday moments.
