Andrew Smith

“I was privileged to grow up in a strong and faithful Christian household, so my faith is very personal and central to who I am. I feel the Lord has called me to CFT to use my past touring experience to help others discover God’s marvellous creation. I want to encourage others in their spiritual journey, to help build each other up and learn from one another as we explore His creation and share His light and gospel.”

Andrew Smith is a natural storyteller with a great sense of humour. A true Renaissance man, he is a fluent speaker of French & German who loves all that is “culture” – art, drama, architecture, history and music. A gifted singer, Andrew not only was a chorister in the St Andrew’s cathedral choir he has also performed at the Sydney Opera House! Andrew trained as a high school teacher ministering to thousands of students as well as working in churches as a youth leader. Whilst a teacher Andrew took many students and parents on exchanges and tours to western Europe, highlighting the natural beauty of God’s landscape and the amazing history and culture of each country. A seasoned traveller and formidable linguist he has been a professional tour leader since 2010, leading both day excursions from Sydney and tours within Australia and the Pacific. Married to Annette, a Danish violinist, Andrew is a father to two wonderful sons and considers parenting and pastoring to others his greatest challenge, gift and reward.
